Trailering a '93 H27

I have found a '93 H27 with wing keel that I would like to purchase. It does not have the diesel (it has an OB engine) and has a porta potti instead of the marine head and comes with a trailer (double axle and brakes). The boat info on HOW states that the boat has a displacement of 5000 pounds. Is that with diesel or without. Does anyone have a H27 like this they can still trailer? I have a half-ton Suburban with 6,500 pound capacity, could I pull this boat. It is several states away. But once I have it, I would leave it at my slip and just pull it out for the winter. I am not planning on trailer sailing. I know you guys will say that the beam is the issue, but besides that, do you have any input. Crazy Dave, what do you say?Thanks in advance,Dan

A freind of ours has a H27

and he tows it to the lake in the spring and back in the fall, no problem. I think he uses a Suburban like yours as well. This is not to mention other freinds who own Catalina 27s, that do the same thing. I also have never heard anyone be concerned about the beam.ymmvTom M.
