We're looking for a weekend cruiser and like the size and interior arrangement of the 235. However, since we're 300 miles from the Gulf where we want to spend time along the coast, launching and rigging is a factor. Does anyone keep this boat on a trailer?

Most 235's are on trailers.

This is a great boat both for a weekend crusier and a weekend racer. I would say that two out of three 235's I have ever seen on dry sailed and I have seen lots. This little boat has a lot going for it.

rigging can be a chore

Yes, this is a great little boat, I have one, and a trailer. I would not trailer it for weekends. I keep mine in a slip, and would only trailer for a weeks vacation or more, and also to bring it home for the winter. Expect it to take 2 hours to rig and another 2 hours to derig. It's not an easy boat to rig either. The cabin top is higher than the mast step, you need to get the mast so far back and up in order to pin it before it can be raised. In this poition, the mast is top heavy and wants to fall off the back of the boat mast head first. You'll need either 3 strong men or a mast crutch, and mast raising system. I have an A-frame. Or you could have a marina step it for you each time, expect to pay for that. If your looking for a trailerable boat that you can setup quickly, with just you and a mate, and go for a weekend, this probably would not be a good choice sorry to say. Look at a Catalina 22.
