How hard do you think it is to get a new or used triler for any given swing keel sailboat 22 to 25 ft? What is a fair price for a used good condition one?

How Hard Do You Want It?

Around here 1500 to 2000 will get you a good used trailer IF you can find one. How many axles do you want? brakes? I mean; there is no problem in the boating world that can't be solved by shoveling money on it. My trailer: Cost: FREE Brakes 429.83 Clean &Primer $250.00 Tire mounting &used wheels $63.00 Misc. repairs $100.00 Lights $55.00 I do have a great trailer now but this is getting depressing.. P.S. I did most of the labor myself.

Hunter 25.5 Memphis, TN
It took me nine months, to find mine...

I have a Hunter 25.5 fin keel, and needed a trailer to get it home for the winter do do some maintenance. I only found it, because the owner (in Pensacola) lost his Catalina 25 to hurricane Ivan. I too had to replace the brakes(electric), rear axle, new tires & hubs, new lights, wiring, and electric brake controller & break-away kit. But, I now have a very strong trailer, over 6000 lbs, and I willbe selling it in the spring. Sailboat trailers are HARD to find. Good luck.

In order to find a trailer, your best bet would be to get on the web site for the particular boat you own.

Dave, Do I read your post correctly that you will be selling your trailer in the spring? If you do not already have a buyer, please contact me. Thanks Alan alanjohnson55@comcast.net
