Does any one know if a 290 hunter will work with a trailer from a catalina C250.

Don't think so

Nick, the H29 has a displacement of 7400 pounds and a beam of 10' 9" while the C250 has a displacement of only 36oo pounds (Max) and a beam of only 8' 6". I don't think the trailer would take it without a whole lot of modification. Even then I have my doubts. You sure wouldn't haul a 290 with a pickup truck unless it would be to take it with difficulty from the water to a very close storage facility.

No, the weight factor is too great and the balance

center point too far rearward. Light tongue weigh could also be a factor. Keel depth might be another "also". Why and how far, are questions that if answered might yield other ideas that could be cheap and satisify your need. Ray S/V Speedy

The Cat trailer would NOT work. Not only isn't it rated for the correct weight, but the beams are very different. (By the way, if your width is greater than 8.5', you qualify for a "WIDE LOAD" sign and all of the associated permits.) There are lots of companies that would be happy to move your boat around for you. They don't come cheap, though. I wanted to move a Hunter 27 about 60 miles from the marina to my driveway (so I could fix it up). Got two quotes: $1,000 and $800.
