What type of bolts are used to bolt the wood to the frame? Are they easy to remove. I have a 1988 trailer. The trailer is about 50 miles from my home. I'm trying to figure out what tools to bring.

Type of bolts

Hi, Our trailer has carriage bolts. No head and I think a 1/2" or 9/16" wrench will fit the bolt. Bring a set of vise grips to hold the head. Ours were rusted to bad to come loose and I had to cut them off. If you need more info let me know. My trailer is out in the shop. Hope this helps. Rob Morton S/V Euphoria

Type of bolts

I have a "Nut Cracker" that would fix the problem quickly. I picked it up at NAPA if I remember. Basically it has a hardened wedge that splits the nut on one of its faces. It comes off quickly after that. You would replace both the nut and bolt anyway.

The bolts are

3/8" carriage bolts. There are 4 bolts. They are 2" long but 1 1/2" would work. Good advise from other posts -- the bolt will most likely spin in the wood so bring something to hold the head.
