I just put new lights on my trailer and found that the right turn signal does not work when the brake lights come on. The left signal works fine and the right signal works on the car when the brakes lights are on. The right signal works fine with the headlights on. It is just when the brakes are on that the right signal does not work. I did test the car socket without the trailer hooked up and it works. As soon as I plug the trailer in the meter only reads the brake light on and not the turn signal.

I cannot swear that the light worked with the old system; I never looked.

The vehicle is a 2003 Kia Sorento. Could it be the flasher relay is not heavy enough? Or what else could it be?

Try the trailer on a different tow vehicle, that is a known good tow vehicle... and you'll know if it is the trailer or not. :)

I was getting dizzy trying to read all the conditions and am taking a wild guess.. but maybe the right side has a bad ground.

Unless they are separate bulbs, the brake filament is probably the same one that is the turn signal.

Seperate Turn Signal on Car?

I'd bet the converter or a bad ground on that light.

I have this problem, too.

Same thing. It's always the ground. Every other month I disconnect the ground wire, and file the washers and the metal that it touches. Light rust build up from dropping those lights into the water is a pain on the grounding.
