Trailer tire type /size

Just bought home a Mirage 5.5 with 12 inch tires/rims. Since I will need new tires, I am thinking of going with the wide, low profile pontoon boat trailer rims and tires. That would lower the boat and trailer for easier shallow ramp launch. Any ideas?

Yep also increase your load capacity but you got to have 5 lug hubs. I haven't seen those wide tires in 4.

Mirage 5.5 now that is one I have not heard of in years even though I was a dealer but cannot rememeber it that well. A lot will depend on the load range of both tires combined if on a single axle will carry the load of boat, motor, gear and trailer with an added safety margin. Make sure you also have the proper clearance of tires so they will clear the axle fenders even in a hard bounce.

May not fit as the rim has a much larger offset and there will not be enough clearance with the trailer frame behind the tire.
You could go with 5.6 X 8 tires which are not quite as tall as the 4.8 X 12.
