I have just bought a 1974 DS II along with an EZ Loader trailer, and would like to store it outside for the winter. I am not as concerned about the weather as I am the effect of keeping a fiberglass hull on rollers for 6 months a year, thinking it might leave permanent dents or little wells in the hull. Does anyone have any experience in this, positive or negative? Thanks.

roller trailer boat storage

My keel rollers support most of the weight ,the rest of the rollers just keep the boat steady. I have not seen any ill effects of storing on the trailer in 4 years.

10 rollers

I have 8 tilt rollers a keel roller and bow roller so each holds about 60 pounds I figure; not a lot. I have not had any indents as a result. I tilt the trailer to drain any meltwater, use the mast in its supports (winch mast at the front, stirrup on a pole in the rear, and a 5 inch block on the tabernacle), as a ridgepole and tie a poly tarp down over it. I store the sails inside at home so the mice don't find a cozy nest, and wait patiently for spring. I have the same EZ loader trailer.

thanks

That's a great help, now I can go ahead I guess without too much concern. Appreciate the feedback.
