Here is the deal: We here in the northland enjoy winter sports. However, we enjoy them more when we can get a break from our current no sun, no warmth. Does anybody have any good ideas for me? Here is the the specific situation: My youngest daughter is a senior in high school. As with her three older sisters I do not want her to go off on spring break with her friends. It is bad enough that college kids do that craziness. It does not have to start in high school. I will take her some where cool, that means warm. She enjoys sailing with me in our little O'Day 192 and in our shared Lindenberg 26. My question is; is there a reasonably priced way for me to sail in warm water in smaller day cruisers that will not break my limited budget? Ideas are welcomed. I suppose that could trailer my O'Day 192 from Minneapolis to Key Largo, but that seems like a great deal of effort with in a one week time frame. I am looking at the week of March 26th.

you could try cedar key fla, north of tampa on the gulf, with your boat, 400 miles shorter trip and housing would cost much less. very nice small boating area.

WINTER VACATION

John i was thinking about the same thing and found this place in the keys. It looks like a good way to go being that you have a boat and a room right at the same place. Hope this helps. http://www.keylimesailingclub.com/rates.htm

winter/spring sailing vacation

Thanks to John Popp and others on other sailing groups I went to the Key Lime Sailing Club web site and also Googled it and read others' reviews. I went ahead and made reservations and sent them a check. I will review the experience of my daughter and I upon our return.
