I would like to make this group aware of an event that will be taking place in the future. Many owners of various makes of sailboats have participated in Trailer Sailor events around the country, and especially in the Pensacola, FL and Orange Beach, AL area, but something different is in the works. The plans are, instead of trailering you boat to an event, to board a Carnival Cruise Ship instead. On Janurary 22, 2004, we will take the cruise ship, Holiday, from New Orleans to Cozumel, Mexico, for a 4 night cruise. Hopefully many of you will be able to join us and meet numerous sailors from around the country, share experiences and see who can tell the tallest tale. I am interested in these events

I am located in Trussville, AL (Birmingham), boat is kept on Smith Lake, but I sail the Gulf Coast often. Where and when do you have other trailer sailor events?

Hi Mike, You sail on a beautiful lake, I use to visit Smith Lake several time when I went to school in the area (maybe I should have been in class.) This group usually gets together in either Pensacola, FL or Orange Beach, AL. The sailing areas are georgous, the white sandy beaches, secluded anchorages and cold beer. Our next get sailing get together will be Labor Day, we will start from Pensacola Shipyard Marina, arriving on Friday night, sail 30 miles down to Navarre via the ICW. We will anchor there, then on Saturday, sail back to Quietwater Beach in Pensacola. After lunch, some of us will head a little futher down and anchor behind Sand Island at the Pensacola cut. Sunday, we head back to the Shipyard, pull the boats out and head home. For big advertised events, we will draw around 25 boats, but if some of us just get together, we may only have 10 or so.
