I just sold my San Juan 21 to make way for my O'Day 222. The SJ21 is a centerboard boat with a round bottom. I had two long bunks supporting that boat. Now I want to convert my trailer to hold my O'Day 222. I know I need to install sturdy bunk supports for the keel/centerboard bottom of the 222. What I don't know is how high or how far apart the bunks should be port to starboard? Wondering in Arnold, Ned

Some Ideas

See if you can find another 222 in your area with a trailer and copy as much of the support details as possible. If that does not work, contact me I know of one 222 in my area that sits on a trailer. It might be possible to get some pictures of the boat, on and off the trailer. Dave dhesme@insightbb.com

Extenders for sure

Ned, as Joe said, use some extenders..Probably won't even need to be 24". When I purchased my 2005 Venture bunk trailer, I purchased 4 sets of 14" extenders from the dealer, and they work perfect. Chances are, any trailer dealer will sell these extenders and only takes minutes to install.
