Here's a review for an upcoming product for my small boat friends. I was visiting my reclusive neighbor who invented/perfected a nifty boat retrieval trailer guide and hitch guide all in one. I've installed one and it works like a champ. Mounted on the trailer winch post, a carbon fiber rod swings straight up to reveal a bright orange illuminated reference point when running the boat on. More importantly, when backing the truck to the trailer hitch, the guide rod swings horizontally towards the vehicle. Simply back up toward the guide rod, aligning its orange LED tip with a removable magnetized clear acrylic cross-hair on your truck. This puts your hitch and ball perfectly mated everytime without needing an assistant, day or night. He called it a Hitch-a-cinch and it's patented but he hasn't found a distributor as yet because his health is failing and now he's wheelchair bound. A former oil rig diver with an enormous ingenious streak and a can-do attitude. He was a really nice guy and gave me one to try. I suppose you could build a similar guide but it's made with top notch components. Carbon fiber expandable rod, orange LED light, composite swivels and adjusters. I put mine on in under and 30mins with 4ss screws. They should sell for around $75 when released which is nice for all the hassle(or bumper/boat damage) it will save to us trailer guys, power or sail. A really cool idea, keep and eye out for it. Here's a lousy pic of my kit before the install. I'll try to get some better one's soon.Aloha, Michael and Kelli
