Trailer Help

It's DnA

I have recently aquired an '87 MacGregor 25 and was about to re-carpet the trailer rails when I thought I'd better ask a couple of questions. I've attached a photo to help show my issue. The front of the rail appears to be causing a 'dimple' in the hull on each side. I am wondering if putting a two foot longer rail on the trailer would help this situation, or if the boat was designed with this dimple. Second, the bottom of the hull rest directly on the wooded block at the front cross-member of the trailer (just ahead of the axle). On two previous boats, the bottom 'v' of the hull was not in contact with the trailer. Again, is this normal or should I be raising the rails? Appreciate feedback. Dan
