Oday 23 Long Island
Just wondering if anyone can suggest where I can get a trailer for my O'Day 23. I have to haul the boat from Long Island to Westchester County in NY. Follow-up: Are the I,P,E,J measurements considered when finding the right trailer. Thanks.

Kookie: As far as I know, there is no "stock" Oday 23 trailer; lots of different manufacturers, with different designs will accomodate the 23. You can have a new one made for you by loadmaster or ezload (or any of a dozen other companies), or you can look for a used one. However, the last time I looked (about 10 years ago), the cost of a new trailer was about as much as I had paid for my boat; used ones in good condition were not that much less.

If you are only looking to move your boat for the one time, you might want to consider having it professionally trucked. It's probably cheaper.

Your follow up: the I, P, E, and J measurements are related to the sail plan, and are not germaine to finding the right trailer.

Kookie, Keep in mind that most of the O'Days have strong thick hulls that can take a complete roller trailer as well as a flat bunk model. My O'Day 222 came with a single axle roller trailer with 15" tires. It had a set of four 12" rollers for the keel to roll on as well as the raised rollers for the hull. The O'Day 192 and the 240 also came with a similar Load-Rite Trailer back then. A flat bunk trailer built for a 24' boat and rated for the weight of your boat will work.
Like Mike said though, you're better off having a boat hauler transport it right now. Then you can take your time and get a trailer for it later.
