Trailer weight
Hi Bian. The O'day weights in at about 2200lbs you can figure with motor, fuel and all other gear, you are going to increase the weight a few hundred pounds. Lets say up to 2500 or 2600 lbs. If you play it safe and include a margin, you would want a trailer that can handle at least 3000lbs. I think mine is rated at 3500lbs. It was previously a motor boat trailer. I remove the rollers and welded vertical stantions on it to hold the bunks. It works like a charm. You may want to consider looking for an older trailer and convert it like I did. You can ususally find them from $300 to $900 as compared to $1500 to $2500 or more. There are a lot of older motor boats with worty trailers that go for dirt cheap. In some cases the owners would do better if they junked the boat and sold the trailer. I hope this helps. If you do this, let know if you need any help with bunk placment. Kevin
