I recently purchased an '81 Hunter 22' and am in the market for a trailer. I was looking for any advice as to what I should pay for one, and how to go about finding out what type of trailer I need. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks. JM

Trailer

I'm looking as well. I've been told by a guy that works at the marina to look for a 2 axle, 3500 lb capacity, with bunks, not rollers. Used prices run between $700 and $3000. So far I've only been able to find new,and that is not in the budget.

Keep looking

Keep looking for a while to get a good price. I purchased a '78 H25 two years ago that came with 6000 pound trailer for $5500. Both were excellent condition.

We purchased a new Performance trailer from Tropic Trailers in Florida. It cost approx 2500 delivered to Maine, is made of glavinized steel, w/ bunks and extended tongue BUT we were told by Tropic that it was being custom built and yet when it arrived, it had no brakes...which are legally required for anything over 3,000 pounds. We've had a nightmare trying to get this all straightened out and still haven't got it set yet (so, in fact, we aren't even sure if the boat will indeed fit on it). My advice is to contact the nearest Hunter dealer and ask where they get trailers for their new models. Good luck!

Champion Trailer in Slidell LA

I have bought many trailer parts from them and will be buying a kit to add a second axle for thr trailer under my 23.5. They have an excellent web site and a great catalog as well. They are not too far away and Mardis Gras will be here soon. http://www.championtrailers.com/
