I have recently purchased a 1974 Catalina 22 in very good condition. One slight problem, no trailer. I am wondering if anyone out there can tell me what type, brand, model of trailer is needed for the Cat 22. I presently have a LoadRite trailer that is equiped for a power boat that is good condition but will not work with the Catalina. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Tom Griffith

Try to LoadRite

I owned a Gulf Coast 21. It was on an old power boat trailer. The bunkboards and supports had been modified, but it worked very well. What might be a problem, is that you might have to get the boat out of the water to make the measurements required for the modifications. I am assuming that your Cat 22 is a swing keel.

I did contact LoadRite and they told me that I could convert the trailer at a cost of $1,000.00 just for the parts. They even suggested that I sell the trailer and buy another trailer for the boat. The way I see it is this. The trailer is in perfect shape. West Marine has bunk boards and the parts needed to install them and the cost is about $200.00. I figure that I can make the change on the trailer myself as I have swapped engines on a 73 buick station wagon alone.

Karavan

Hello, My 22 came on a Karavan trailer. I don't know the model, but Karavan on the web at Karavan.net Mine does not have rollers, it has bunks. I plan on adding some 'goal posts' to make aligning the keel easier. Barry
