Bill, I checked the archives and there is some

info there. Try "Trailering an ODay 272". Bob Todd and R.W. Landau were quoting trailer strengths and costs back and forth, and a couple of other owners had purchased trailers. Maybe one of them will respond. I do know that in my state (Ohio) a permit is required to haul a 272 on any kind of a trailer because the beam exceeds 8' which is the allowable maximum width to trailer anything without a permit. Another suggestion that I read was to load the boat cradle and all onto a flat bed trailer and haul it that way. When I bought my 272 in the winter of '94, it was sitting on a flatbed trailer on its cradle. This was what the former owner used to get it back and forth from the launch to the marina at haul out and launch. (The marina where he rented a slip didn't have a boat launch, and he chose to trailer it back there to store it.) I chose not to buy the trailer because my slip is at a marina with a launch. Trailers are kind of pricey especially if you're contemplating a one-time move. good luck, Tom

Trailer for 272

I have been looking for a trailer for my 272. Fl's law for trailering without a permit is 108"(9') beam. This is set by FDOT. The 272 weights from 5000lbs. to 5400lbs. depending on if you have an inboard or outboard motor. Trailering this boat should not be a problem. So far the average price for a trailer has been $3500.00. Used trailers are hard to come by. So if you happen to find two let me know.
