A friend sent this along with the picture of his H25. Thought you might want to know and check your trailer. On Friday, March 23, 2007 while towing Windsong to Florida the trailer tong broke and this is the result. For reference, the trailer had an extendable tong which was a square steel tube inside another square tube (4 inch). The inner tube broke clean at the point where the pin held both together. Fortunately, I was going slow through a weigh scale at the time and no one was hurt. When I got the truck stopped, part of the tong and the safety chains were still attached to the truck. This was an area which could not be inspected for defects. Extendable tongs may be bad. If you have one, check it closely. The gash visible in the front is clear through the laminate, the keel shows cracking completely around and the marine surveyor and my insurance have totaled the boat. It will be auctioned off for salvage. The good news is that I have found a boat to my liking and will be the owner of an S2 9.2C very soon. This is a 30 foot boat made by S2 with a center cockpit.
