I thought heavily about modifying a trailer to fit my last boat, a Lancer 25, but lack any welding experience at the moment, which seemed to be a requirement to do the job both to my standards and inexpensively.
I had it welded by a professional welder. He also furnished the materials, made the saw cuts and did the welding to my specifications. It was very low cost versus a new trailer of the same load carrying capacity.
