Zoomie,
This is a rough sketch of bunk height dimensions on my Long Trailer. It's not really important to get he heights exact. In fact, you're better off setting the heights extension bracket heights a little higher than a little lower if you are going to load your boat on the trailer for the first time at the boat ramp. If the keel is off the keel board by an inch or two, it's better than having the bunks set too low and have the boat tip over on it's side when you pull the trailer up the ramp. The important thing is tongue weight first, then the bunk height adjustment. You can use an ordinary bathroom scale for this. Unhook the trailer from the tow vehicle, and lower the tongue on the scale sitting on anything that will allow the trailer to be level. 5 to 10% of the boat's weight, fully loaded, is a good rule of thumb for the tongue weight. For some reason, the sketch won't upload to this thread. Email me directly, and I'll try to send it to you. sailtrinkka1986@verizon.net

I modified a powerboat trailer with appropriate weight bearing capacity by adding new bunks, a keel rest and longer bunk posts. The marina then hoisted my O’Day 222 on the modified trailer and adjusted the bunk height in situ. The initial placement of bunks by marina was not symmetrical (see measurements in the photo)- and bunk placement was subsequently adjusted. Also, the bunks were shortened (removed length in front of front bunk post that was not in contact with hull) after these photos were taken. I hope this helps. Mich222

That came out great Mitch. Thank you for posting these because the sketch that I made out quite a while back isn't quite as good as yours.

my trailer has rollers but looks similiar with the bunkers. i added a 2 by 6 standing upright on each side of the rollers as i was worried it might bounce and shift off the rollers while trailering. it also helps to keep it aligned loading.

Oops, sorry about that post...since I work night shift through the week, I have to take an ambien on friday night to be able to sleep like a normal person. If I take my computer to bed with me while i settle in, sometimes I post gibberish like the above as the ambien kicks in before I know it. Again, my apologies.
