Trailer Almost cut the internal lines

Well after a great weekend on the Cheaspeake, we came in Sunday and started tearing down for the trip home. Had extended the trailer since it was low tide when we put in. Joan was driving and pushing the extention back and I was trying to seat the pin. Wouldn't go, fiddle fiddle, back and forth. the pin just wouldn't go through. About this time it dawned on me to look in the hole, sure enough I was beating the hell out the wiring and brake line. OH SHIT. Wasn't to bad, got a screw driver and moved it over and the pin went home. Yes they are covered by the black tubing... Now sitting around today I came up with the idea of placing a piece of plastic pipe say about 1/2 inch diameter down the length of the extension to hold the wiring and brake line. Seems like a good idea to me. Will take some work, that probably is a under statement. Has anyone else tried this? What is the feeling of other trailer sailors about doing this. I would hate to cut those lines while I'm out some where. Jim S/V Java

H260

Hi Jim, It's nice to know there's another H260 owner on the Bay. I expect delivery on mine next month, and although I don't expect any problems, it's nice to know there's someone in the state with the same type of boat. My email is bfsears@chesapeake.net and I'm in Calvert county. And yes, I will look at my trailer wires... Thanks and Happy sailing!
