Trail -Rite VIN

Purchased a Capri 22 # 427 with a Trail-rite trailer. Owner had not registered the trailer since 2001
( have license plate) and does not have any old registrations.



Our wonderful NY DMV will not accept the photo of the VIN because not all numbers/letters are legible. DUHH the ones that are not legible, are the manufacturers code. I was able to get the complete code from Trail-Rite.

Is the VIN stamped into the metal frame any place?

I have seen a metal loop on my axle that had numbers on it. it just hangs there - the axle goes right though the middle of the loop. It just hangs there?

Here is the scoop -- as far as my Trail Rite trailer. The trailer's SERIAL number is stamped on the frame, up front on the starboard ( right side). But this is just the serial number.

The VIN has a lot more information, manufacturers code, date of manufact, length ,,,,,,
The last 6 characters are also the serial number.

According to the link. Trail-rite will make new VIN labels ... I'll find out Monday when I call them.
