Tradgedy and destruction in Arizona

Over the weekend, a violent monsoon storm caused the death of at least nine when a wall of water caught forty people unawares at a swimming hole near Payson. The storm also wreaked havoc at the Lake Pleasant Marina.

My O'day 322, Bella Zee, the one with the red mainsail cover and Bimini, looks to be OK thanks to a relatively sheltered slip (near the end of the video). We can't get on the docks. The walkway to them is all torn up.
Say a prayer for the lost lives.

Wow! So, what were the wind gusts? Was the dock damage from surge, wind or both? That's a big repair project!

70 mph gusts. Damage caused by wind and waves. Three children went missing but were found. One 50 year old woman was swept off a paddle board and was airlifted to hospital. Two houseboats partially submerged. Several boats on trailers blown over.
