ok, good news is i got the clog out by taking the pump out hose to the joker valve elbow. it sucked that sucker right out. i would of been extremely happy but this happened after i broke the head.

lesson learned, always wait for peggys response before you proceed.

so i poured hot water in the head and tried to force the pump when it popped! it will still draw water into head but wont move much water to tank. which part did i break. it is a jabsco twist and lock. new last year.

thanks
mike

The repair is easy .... you probably FORCED the '(weighted) flap valve' beyond its 'seat' and its now stuck 'below' its seat or you ripped the 'weight' from the 'flapper' portion. Suggest you unbolt the 'pump assembly' at the bottom connection to the 'horizontal piping assembly' that the bowl sits on, investigate the 'flap valve'. WM carries spare parts for most Jabsco heads ... (usually in stock at most WM shops)

NEVER EVER .... ****FORCE**** a marine head. They are all 'plastic' and you ARE going to BREAK something .... in your case you probably 'broke' the 'flap valve' (among other components).

The good news is...

You now have an excuse to upgrade your toilet to a PH II or PHC, for very little more than the price of another Jabsco. Check this out sbo.com PHII PHC LBA

Because the PH II/PHC piston is 30% larger in diameter than the Jabsco and most other manual toilets, it moves almost twice as much per stroke. That additional power also makes it a lot harder to clog than other manual toilets.

A whole bunch of people here have installed one and they all will tell you it was the best thing they've done for their boats.

I have got to RAVE about the PH II/PHC 'upgrade'. What a masterful, extremely well engineered and constructed piece of equipment.

I just bought a Jabsco Pump assembly for under 70$ off the internet. I am sorry but I forgot where I bought it. It took a lot of googling to not get ripped off.

Check out Amazon.. Whole pump assy (29040-3000) is less than the repair kit..

I have a Raritan PHII and rebuilt the system last year for the first time in ten years. All it really needed was a new joker valve everything else was perfect. I have never succeeded in clogging it and we use cottonelle paper.
