I'm moving my boat to Solomons. I have BoatUS tow insurance with the $500 max per incident. Is that enough coverage for that part of the bay?

Depends on boat

The bigger the pricier the tow. Bear in mind you're covered only to the nearest marina from the incident, not necessarily home.

Towing in Solomons

Keep my boat at Solomons. Tow Boat/US is right there. I have $500 per incident which I believe to be satisfactory. (Costs $55 a year). At about $100 an hour (may be a bit low), I can get 5 hours of response before I have to begin paying. This is mostly satisfactory for the radius that I normally sail. If I go further away, I look to the other Tow Boat/US responders in the area. Seems satisfactory to me. I am self insuring beyond the $500. If I am really far away from a tower, I can always sail to get closer before I call them.
