Towing Gas Milage

I was curious as to what gas milage other Mac. 26 owners get while towingtheir boats . I get 13MPG towing my 26D with a Chevy Express Van with a 350V8driving 60MPH . Thanks ,Paul

I get about 14 mpg

towing my 94 26s with a toyota tacoma 4 cylinder. W/O boat (most of my driving)I get about 26 mpg. Get alot of comments...boat is way bigger than truck; but I have at least 10 thousand miles towed with no problem.

Minivan MPG

I tow my 26S with a Dodge Grand Caravan, 3.8 v-6. We took a 800 mile round-trip to the North Channel in the Great Lakes (mostly flat). We averaged 65-70 miles per hour and got 13 mpg for the trip.

GMC Safari

I drive 3-4 hours to the Keys with a Mac26S and I get 13-14 MPG. Normal driving without the boat I get 18-19 MPG.

My F150 Ford

.. had a motor swap and now sports a 353 Detroit Diesel. Whether I am towing my boat or just driving around empty is the same. 20 MPG. Downfall is, this setup gets me no faster than 63 mph speed. But then, I don't wanna tow faster than 55 mph anyway. And oh yes, this is in Florida which most driving is flatland.Tom

can't beat a dodge

i've got a '93 dodge dually with cummins motor. i get 26 mpg (that's an imperial gallon)without my v2-24 in tow and 24.5 mpg when towing. oh yeah, this is with 4.10 gears. if u need a tow vehicle the cummins is a good choice and i can go faster than 63 mph!! 26 mpg for me is 20.8 mpg (us gallons)
