Towing a 23

Has anyone used an Isuzu Trooper to tow a Oday 23 or like boat? How did it do?

Towing my 23

I tow my O'Day 23 with my Ford Escape. I think it does a better job than my Chev Van used to. I only have to two it about 20 miles but it has to be pulled up a fairly steep ramp and another steep short pull out of the yard area. I'm not sure I would want to use it for a long haul.

Just like a Jeep

Brian,According to edmunds.com the Isuzu Trooper is equipped with a 3.5 litre V-6 engine and has a towing capacity of 5,000 lb.My Jeep Grand Cherokee has the same towing capacity with a 4.0 litre straight 6 and I have towed my O'day 23 hundreds of miles (southwestern Ohio to southern Michigan & back) with no problems. I would like to have the V-8 Jeep (6,500 lb capacity) for extra power on hills but I think the Isuzu should do just fine unless you are going mountain climbing.Chris
