Who do you have your insurance with... and who can you recommend for salvage in the Boothbay Maine Area?

Hi Rich. My insurance policy covers towing(included, no limit) so I can call anyone. I believe Maine Sail has the same insurer(Amica).

Just remember, if you're offered a tow, it is far better to give them a line off your boat, rather than accept a line from theirs... if you use your own line as the tow line, it is generally considered a tow—if you use a line off their boat, it can often be considered salvage... and then salvage laws might apply. IIRC, this distinction has been supported in the admiralty courts.

Timo... I will check out Amica. My choices were slim to none... as "nobody" wanted to insure me with first sizable boat. I went with Clarke Insurance (who has all our stuff) who put us with "Middlesex Mutual Insurance". We have towing through Sea-Tow.

Has anyone out there checked out Sea-Insure (part of Sea-Tow) for coverage?
