tedebee, That's a whole lot of boat. what is the beam 102" is the widest you can toe on most roads without a permit.
A few things to think about.
1st the beam
2nd the toung weight on your tahoe
3rd the overall weight of your boat trailer, boat, cargo, stuff in the car, passangers beside a 15olb driver, check your book for your towing capacity
4th you need very, very, very good brakes on your boat trailer and tow vehicle
5th what altitudes will you be towing ( subtract 2% of your vehicles rated towing capacity for every 1000' above sea level.
6th how far are you traveling
7th does your vehicle have the towing package
8th what speeds to you plan on traveling

Just did a bit of digging. 272 has a beam of 108" left the factory weighing 5375 (I am sure weighs much more now The tahoe has a towing capacity of 6,200lb. A double axle trailer will weigh at least 1,000lbs more like 1500lbs for a boat your size. I am afraid the boat is too heavy for your vehicle, and too wide without permits.
Are you planning on moving the boat once or do you want to trailer the boat often? You could have the boat professionally moved for much less than the purchase price of a trailer. Others will chime in with more suggestions I am sure good luck to you and keep us posted.

He said to Wisconsin. Is he on the Lake Michigan coast? Can the boat be sailed up the coast? Lot cheaper that a trailer to haul that boat and wide load permitting needed, unless he is inland.

A buddy of mine used to haul his Contender around town with his Tahoe (5.3 liter). It was well over the tow limit (I want to say about 10-11,000lbs), but it could handle it. He did end up trading up to a diesel F250 HD because he knew he was going to end up blowing up the transmission. I also have a 5.3 liter tahoe. It tows most things fine, but if it's a long haul, I probably wouldn't attempt the 272. If it's just around town, I don't think I would hesitate.
