As winter approaches, I will be putting on socks and a light jacket (Boy, I'm glad I don't live in Minnesota anymore) and heading down the ICW for several weeks. In preparing for the trip I am trying to tie up all loose ends and plan for all contingencies. I have been reseaching towing companies and just seem to be getting confused (at my age, this happens often). I will be traveling strictly on the ICW and want a service that will give me peace of mind (and protect my wallet). Can anyone help me find which service will be best for me, so that I don't end up taking the dog express home without my 1975 classic H25 and no money, after a problem? Thanks for the help.

I like Tow Boat US

As a boat US member you get discount at alot of marinas. You should check it out. 100 buck for unlimited towing. I called them and they were right on the job!Your insurance should have towing too!

I like Sea Tow

My personal preference is for Sea Tow but I haven't really checked Tow Boat US thoroughly - they're not local. I think vessel assist is not competitive.Justin - O'day OWners' Web

I have seatow and thank goodness I went a ground and the bill would have been over $600.00 but I have unlmited towing for $95.00 a year and that also includes other type of break downs.

TowBoatUS

I have unlimited coverage with TowBoatUS and have used it a couple of times, once for going aground in the ICW and once due to a breakdown about 5 miles offshore. Very satisfied on both occasions. Also the discounts for Boat US members for fueland transient dockage are pretty good too. I do know a number of people who have both services. Matt

I agree with Matt...Boatus is what I have and used it once after my water pump gave up and no problem..My advise is get full coverage (about $100 )

look at area coverage

I think they are all pretty much the same. I choose Sea Tow as they keep a boat in the area I frequent. I think they are all @100.00 so check the coverage area and pick whoever has the most presence.Bill
