As luck would have it my trans has failed (clutch plates) . You may have seen my other thread. I also bought a new Variprop. While the boat was hauled out I decided to change the prop shaft to SS. So now I have new trans, damper plate, cutless, SS prop shaft. Yard also discovered strut was a little loose - now fixed. Old prop shaft was also found to have some run-out at the prop end. This shaft is 4 feet long. Re-alignment also completed. So now no more prop wobble! Finally. Problem is gone but not sure what contributed the most to my original wobble issue. I would suspect it was the prop shaft though.
Variprop is nice piece of machinery. The factory went a little light on pitch though as I can only get 6 kts at 2600 rpm. I can adjust while in water.
I think the Kiwi may have worked too with all the other issues fixed to but too late to go back. The Kiwi will be up for sale soon. But first I am going cruising.
