Total Boat Non-skid

I put this product on top of the non skid diamond pattern on my 30+ year old deck. Cleaning was a light sanding and acetone. I will report back how well it wears. Application was easy as roll & tip, one coat. Feels solid, rubbery type feel, silicone beads? Not the sand texture, but it has gripablility, and I was pleased it still kept the deck pattern. I mixed the light grey with the white color 50/50, came out a bit darker than the original color, close enough...my time estimate for complete project, about 6hrs for prepping and 6hrs for painting. Below are photos, light areas are before...darker are after. Enjoy.

Looks great. However, I will be interested to hear if not being able to sand down into the holes in the old nonskid will shorten the life of the job. That's always been my fear when contemplating that job.

My fear as well because it's a lot of work if it only lasts one season.., Total Boat non-skid had enough reviews that it lasted well enough that I decided to give it a try. I cruise with young kids and race weekly, so this product will be tested...however won't have a good idea until season begins in May.

Will have to look into this... we’re due. Interdeck did not hold up very well. We race & cruise quite a bit.

Yes, Total Tread by Total Boat Jamestown RI distributes this product, you can also find it on Amazon. I got a new sliding hatch piece from hatchmasters dot com., and the rest of the boat started to look tired...so I finish one project...start another...repeat.. until May. Then I go sailing for 6 months.

So in your opinion, if I wanted to do the anti-skid areas on a 26' sailboat, do I need one or two gallons? You said you ordered two gallons but did you have left over?

Looks good! Thanks for sharing. Couple of questions for you:

Did you have any crazing that you applied the Total Boat over and if so, did it cover it w/o showing through so far? Really curious how this holds up.

I've been wanting to replace the companionway hatch on our 28-2. Used Hatchmasters for our other hatch lenses - great experience:

Did you send the existing sliding hatch to them, just measurements or did they have a template on record?
How did you get it out? On our Cal, it looks like I have to remove the aft portions of the teak coaming on port/stbd that hold the hatch captive in order to pull them up enough to slide the hatch out. Is this right?
Thanks!

I ordered four quarts...so maybe one gallon? I'm about half done...and two quarts left. If my math is correct.

Yes, I sent Tony from Hatchmasters the old one...to use as a template, and 3 weeks later picked up new piece. Carefully removed the teak bungs, took out screws, about half-way on port/starboard teak coamings, used wedges to slowly pry up enough to slip out old hatch and slide in new one. Not a difficult job, just time consuming about 5 hours...more or less.

Few Crazing spots that were bad and a couple of dents, I dug out and used the total boat 2-part epoxy and sanded, you can see the spots in the photos. Not quiet bristol, but acceptable for government work. The problem was losing the diamond pattern in the repairs. Fortunately weren't many spots that needed repair. Paint covers light crazing.

got a late start this afternoon so I decided to just prep and paint a small area for now. I hope to finish the rest this weekend
