JOE FERRO

I have a Cruising Design roller furling system dated 1987 named The Reefer 1 Spool. I am in need of 10 torque links for this system. The manufacturer says that are no longer produced so I am asking anyone who may have these or know where to purchase them to please contact me. The part number is 12081. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. My e-mail address is jkl164@aol.com and my home phone is 413-532-5947. Thank You Joe

How about these, Joe?

I have the two as pictured. They are from a CD furler, but I'm not sure which model. It was on a previous sailboat, a 30' Morgan. They have a slight bend to them, but I think they could be straightened out. They are 4" long and when placed together they have a 3/4' diameter. Advise if you want them.

Could be the Link

I will find out this weekend. I think they are the right ones but I don't want to waste your time. Also are those the only two you have? I will respond to you next week one way or another. Thanks Loads Joe

Yes, the only two

I will be at the Newport show on Saturday. If you are there I could bring them. I keep my sailboat in Bristol. If this might work out, email me from the owners directory and I will send you my cell number so we can make contact. I tried to send you an email but my message was returned.

Not the Links

Rich: Thank you for your time but the links I need have different grooves. I may find some through some rigging companies or so Ive been told. I will continue my search. Thanks again Joe

How about replacing the luff

Had the same problem several years ago... wound up upgrading the CDI system with a flexible luff. Made stepping the mast much easier. Not much difference in performance. As I remember the upgrade cost less than $150. CDI staff were very helpful in getting theparts right... It was easy to do.
