Who's going.??

I will be at the True North Yachts booth ( Hunter ) as an "Ambassador" for the Hunter boats this weekend. Hunter dealer asks for volunteers to talk "Hunter" to people checking out the boats. Sounds like fun.

Not sure if I'll be there Sat or Sun or both yet, but will update.

Drop by, say hello. :D

Will also be down on the 21st and meeting up in the Carribean area for a beer mid afternoon with some other sailors. Will also update that time as we confirm.

This is amazing to me, a Boat Show in Toronto Canada in the middle of winter. Was also amazed at the 1 million gallons indoor lake for canoes, dinks, and padle boards. Well I guess you get to inspect the new boats from the keel up. Enjoy.

Well if it was the summer we'd all be out on our boats. Good way to think of warmer weather than to look at boats :D

The indoor lake also has wakeboarding demo's. They use a pully system to pull the boarders across the water. Pretty neat to watch.

I go every year. Always go on a week day when the crowds are down and access to the boats is better. I like to see what the boat builders have come up with and then try to apply it to mine. The only issue over the last 15 to 20 years in going is that the selection of sailboats has become smaller and smaller. It's amazing to see the number of power boats that are available all in one place. Should be a good show. :D

Until we can afford to go south, the Boat Show is about the only way we make it through the winter. ;)

(Although the Toronto winter's been so mild so far, we could still be sailing...)

It's a great mid-winter boating fix. Too many stinkboats, but the boating market is usually great for a bargoon or two.

Scott I'll look for you Tuesday, maybe.

The way I look at it is the Boat Show is 3 months from haul-out and then 3 months to launch... perfect mid-winter break. :D

I have 4 tickets available .... first come first served.

I get tics from our marina each year and I won 4 tickets from the Tor Boat Show online contest.

I am down to the show twice courtesy of True North Yachts as an "ambassador" and will be down on Sat.

Friends of ours just won the 2 nights at the Harbour Castle, Leafs tickets and 2 tickets to the show so don't need ours obviously.

Send me an email and I'll leave them at Will Call at the Show Office.

I will be at the show tomorrow ( Tues) and will have my BB ( to get emails ) tickets, an envelope and pen, to leave the tickets otherwise will be Sat am.

Missed meeting you Scott. I was there on Saturday. My wife and I fell in love with the Hunter 45DS. The second was the 36. We both really like the layout of the Hunters. Unfortunately the price tag is a wee bit out of my price range for now.

We were down at the show today. Very few people this year. Maybe because it's Monday. Interesting that The new Catalinas now have toe rails and all the new Beneteau's do not. Last year it was the other way around.
Seems that the new thing is the stern cabin sky light under the cockpit seats. It means you have to have the seat raised to use the sky light.

Probably not busy because just about every country, in the developed world is in recession, and no one really has the money for a boat. Probably like the eighties, a lot of manufacturers will go out of business. But, that will lead to a lot of new manufacturers in the 20s, 2020s, and they will be lead by people that worked for manufacturers in the this decade. Maybe we will say goodbye to hunter, benetau, and a few other manufacturers.

Have to disagree with Atlantic Al re. recession. I think Monday's are just that way. Auto manufacturer's had one of their biggest years in 2011. Most of the new rides are over $30,000. People are spending for reasons that I don't understand. I am not one of them. Is there any data for the big three: Beneteau, Hunter, and Catalina?

True North have sold a few boats already, and I'm sure they have solid leads that will pan out this week or after the show.
