Was at the Toronto Boat Show yesterday.

True North Yachts were there with 4 Hunters, 33, 38, 46 & 49. Chatted with a couple of the reps for a while and of course tried to get me to trade up to the new 50, but they wouldn't take my 33 as an even trade :snooty:

Overall, the show was ok. Seemed to be more people than last year as there were lines to get onto the various boats.

Sailboat area was definitley smaller than last year, with Bene, Catalina, C&C, Tartan, Island Packet, and a Lagoon 380 Cat, along with the Hunters. Each dealer had fewer boats there, which is not surprising given the economy and cost of carrying inventory etc.

Didn't venture into the powerboat end very much and spent more time in the chandlery area. Picked up a few things, some good prices on boat stuff, and chatted with a few of the other vendors and reps.

Spoke to the people from our marina and very pleased to learn my tarping job survived 110 km/hr winds ( 65 mph) while many others did not.

Good way to relieve the mid-winter / no boat blues.:cry:

I saw some pictures of the new 50 and thought it was really nice,we love our 36 Hunter and I don't see me moving up any bigger with being retired and the economy.
When we ordered our new 36 we did get all the extras that we felt we would need retiring to Florida, but I still like looking at the new boats and look forward
to going to a boat show here in Florida.
Even with a new boat I am always looking to add some thing new.
How cold is it up there.

At $530K I doubt we'll be even considering the 50 anytime in the future, besides being too big of a boat for us. I can see us moving up to a 38 sometime closer to retirement, for the extra floor space and room in the aft cabin and more room in the cabin, mostly to have more room for friends to stay over and assuming the kids will join us with family. For now we are really enjoying the 33 as you the 36.

It's fun to explore the bigger boats and the other manufacturers as a comparison and just to see the differences etc. and gave us the opportunity to get onto a catamaran. Also, is a great mid winter target until launch day again.

Right now it's 23 F ( dinner trime) but heading down to a high of 1 / low -6 F by the end of the week.

Stop enjoying the nice weather and having such a good time ;)
