1984 Hunter 34. I don't know the term for the non-skid foot placement areas of the topsides and cockpit so I'll call them that. Mine show a charcoal gray appearance over large areas of them. The local shop operator says they need to be repainted. Is this the normal cure? I wonder what kind of paint will stand up to walking on it. If that is the solution does anyone have a cost range I might expect? The same shop told me it would cost over $1500 to put a couple of stripes on the freeboard with paint or decals which sounded very expensive. That's a lot of money just for striping.
I just bought the boat so want to change the name. Is the best approach to repaint the transom and paint the name? Or decal?
The boat is out of the water for a bottom job now so would like to get the other work done before it goes back in the lake.
