1980 - Hunter 27' .. I need to repair a soft spot/spongy floor around the cockpit/helm (steering pedestal). I realize that there's a balsa core. I've been told I can drill holes and using a syringe, fill holes with epoxy, thus repairing the floor.
I've also been advised to cut out the top layer fiber glass floor and replace the balsa core with marine ply wood or hi density foam. Return the original top layer and fiberglass the seams.
