Topping Lift Resonance

I have a 2000 H340 with the B&R Rig. The main sheet works from a traveler mounted on the cockpit arch. The boom is supported by a topping lift that runs from the mast-head. In our slip or at anchor, the topping lift vibrates in the wind and even picks up the vibrations of the propellers of passing boats. If I ease the topping lift or the main sheet, the blocks on the main sheet wear back and forth on my bimini. If I let the boom rest on the arch, it clunks around and still rubs on the bimini. The topping lift is eleven years old at this point and must be stretched to its maximum.
Any advice to stop the vibration and/or the noise.

Remove it completely and install a solid vang or Boomkicker. Then you will have gained a useful sail control and eliminated the problem.

I put a light line from each end of the traveller and attached to the bail on the underside of the boom with snap hooks.
Only use it when I leave the boat. Between times just leave enough slack in the mainsheet to stop the vibration.
Remember to take unhook them before going sailing!!!
