topping lift/reef line sizes

Whew! I FINALLY snaked topping lift and reef lines into the Z-Spar boom on my 1987 H-23. What a pain! Next, I have to add the actual lines. Can someone advise me as to the line lengths and diameters? Any thoughts as to line type? (I am not doing the Boomkicker or rigid vang yet...a topping lift is the quick fix and better than the nothing I have now, no?) Also, how do I make off the aft end of the reef point?TIA,RichardH-23 "Invictus"

topping lift.

Suggest that you do the folling. topping lift from mast head to a point with the boom down and then add 3 feet. Take a two sheave jam block that you see sometimes used for boom vangs and secure it to the back of the boom. Run topping lift thru the sheaves and then onto the jam. Pretty easy then trying to do it any other way and easy to get to while standing in the cockpit plus the expense and time is nothing.
