On my H25.5 the topping lift cable stops about a foot from the end of the boom and the former owner had a line from it down to the boom. No easy way to adjust. how is it supposed to be rigged? I have looked for a topping lift line either comming out of the mast base or through the boom like I see on some other boats but have not found anything. I would either like to set up like it is meant to be or figure out something to give me a better system. thanks Jeff

Just a couple more parts.

Jeff: You are probably missing a couple of parts. On the end of the cable, you need to attach a small block. Then there should be an eye (probably on the port side) of the boom. On the starboard side there you need a small cheek block and then about 2 ft. forward of that you need a small cleat. Tie a 1/4 - 5/16" line to the eye on the boom, run the line thru the block on the end of the topping lift cable run it thru your cheek block and tie it off to the cleat.

My 25.5 is similar to Steve's description but

minus the small block on the end of the wire cable. A rope is tied there and runs thru the turning block on the port side rear of the boom to a cleat on the port side of the boom and forward of the turning block.
