Top Swivel problems?

My H33 with in-mast furling seems to be malfunctioning. Over the winter I took my mainsail in for repair and the shop mentioned significant creasing near the head of the sail. I’ve been having problems with tearing along the leech and assumed it was due to age, but the creasing seems to indicate a potential furling problem. While the sail is out and the top swivel is down closer to the tack, I slowly turned the furler and noticed the swivel does not “lock” In the luff extrusion. Someone has suggested the swivel locks once it reaches the top? I took a video clip and would appreciate any thoughts.

I have a US Spars mast with a similar upper swivel, and it never locks. The tension of the luff and leech is enough to keep the swivel aligned with the track in the extrusion.

If the sail is old and worn the creasing could be from the sail being too blown out in the middle and not furling evenly as a result.

Thanks for the response. I’m leaning towards it showing its age. We have been a little more adventurous this past season, going out in heavier winds with the appropriate precautions of course - and do reef per recommendations, but it just may be getting to that time.
