I want to repaint my brown bootstripe on my 83 Catalina 30 again. Interlux and Pettit do not sell dark brown paint suitable for this. I tried Catalina and they suggested Spectrumcolor.com. They sell ONLY gelcoat in gallons for $200 plus. I discovered a company called Top Secret Paint with a dark brown marine one part epoxy. Can anyone tell me if this sounds like the right way to go or if Top Secret makes a good product?

that brand. I would however go to your local Sherwin-Williams store and ask what they have in industrial enamels suitable for this. This is not rocket science. It is just exterior painting in a harsh environment.

I have seen boat yards just mix their own paint. Grab a color wheel and take it from there. You might be surprised at the match you can make with boot stripe paint. Good luck.
