little problem with my capri 18. in pretty brisk wind say 12 to 15 the top portion of the leech of the jib flaps pretty violently. the sail is not lufting and is on the wind. im thinking one of two things. the mainsail (which is original and blown out) is causing this or the sunbrella that the p/o installed on the jib is the cause. any ideas? i know the information is pretty thin.

Just a WAG here, but have you tried moving your jib leads forward?

Do you have a leech line? This is the small line running inside the leech of the sail, coming out near the bottom. Tighten it to remove the flutter.

I'd bet the sail twist is wrong. The wind up high is from a slightly more forward direction as it is moving faster than the wind down low. This is a jib sheet lead adjustment to put more (or less) tension on the leach. alternately the jib may not be trimmed close enough to the wind (down low) and the twist is correct. You would correct that by applying more sheet tension. Course if this happens in "brisk" wind conditions it could be that the sail is not designed for that wind speed and you need to change to a higher wind speed sail.
