This summer my main halyard broke and fell down my mast. All summer it was becoming more and more difficult to pull the main sail up. I am wondering if there is a pulley at the top of the mast that may have frozen but I can't find any diagram of the top of mast to know. I am also wondering about my spinnaker halyard. I have an opening in my mast for one but I do not know if it exits the mast in the same opening as my jib halyard does or if there is another.

Seems unlikely that the jib and spinnaker halyards exit the same place in the mast. The spinnaker halyard should exit the mast above the jib since it has to pass forward of the forestay in gybes.
I don't understand about the main halyard. Not to be a wise guy but it would be hard to raise the main after the halyard parted. So what was your work around for raising the main? The sheaves could very well be frozen. It sounds like this winter may be a good time to drop the mast and resolve these issues.
