It' is important to make sure the TW is enough to keep the load from "fishtailing" but not so much that the tow vehicle squats too much.Your first step should be to weigh your load. A 22' O'day should be around 2,800 lbs

and a tongue weight of 250 lbs should be fine provided the weight is properly distributed in the axles. Do not forget to check the manufacturer's recommendation for the tow vehicle as far as tongue weight and the condition of the rear suspension. A trailer with brakes is recommended for that weight. It can be easy to pull but very hard to stop.
