My toilet siphons when under sail and at the dock. No matter what position I have the valve in it still will siphon. I have installed an anti-siphon valve but to no avail. Is there a make and model of toilet that will not siphon or some way to cure the problem?

Stopped My Toilet From Siphoning

Assume your siphon water is coming from raw water supply line and not waste tank. The manual PAR model 29090 toilet on my 30T started siphoning. Took pump apart to find small piece of eel grass holding top valve gasket slightly open which caused siphoning. Installed PAR model #36200 3/4" barb strainer in raw water supply hose and have since captured small pieces of debris from entering toilet pump. No more siphoning problems.

Head Rebuild

Normally when this happens there is a flapper valve that isn't sealing. Heads should be rebuilt every couple of years to prevent this from happening.

Close the valve

The first two posts are right on. But if you read the head mistress forum she will also tell you to Close the thru valve when the head is not being used. A pain in the rear I know if the thru valve is in an out of the way location. So what I did was install and inline ball valve right next to the pump inlet. So now I open and close the inline valve before and after I flush, while the thru hull is opened while we are on the boat, closed at all other times. A lot of good info can be found on the Head Misstress forum. Check it out.
