Toerail repair

I had a little accident while towing my Catalina 22 last weekend. As a result I ended up with a 8" crack in the port toerail. Several people have told me no big deal just use some epoxy to fix it up. Has anyone out there used epoxy for this type of repair and if so was it difficult to use?

Is there a way to post a picture of this? How wide is the crack? Do you need to grind it out first? Please describe the crack (and maybe how it got there) in more detail & it will help us in helping you. LaDonna

Hi , LoDonna is right more info would really help, one thing I think would be a good idea is not using epoxy. If by epoxy you meant the type of fiberglass resin to use. I believe All of Catalina's boats are of the polyester type resin which is quite different and not compatable with polyester. West Marine catalog or online store can help you with an Evercoat repair kit. www.westmarine.com Hope this helps Dave LaPere
