The one-point safety has always been a possibility, albeit nearly impossible. A team making an extra-point attempt would have had to botch the play so badly, they would end up in their own end zone, 98-yards away, and then get tackled in the end zone. Because that play was on an extra-point attempt (or a two-point conversion attempt), only one point would be awarded - thus the one-point safety.

Technically, it also could have been awarded if the offensive team fumbled the ball into the end zone, and the defense illegally batted the ball out of bounds, giving the offense a one-point safety.

So far that is an Extra Point.

Clarifying...

Not extra point, just...
TD, Safety, FG are scores.

How can you get a SCORE of just ONE point?

In no way do I discount the fighting abilities or the toughness of the US Marines. They are the best sea - to ground fighting force in the world.

Do they swim to their fight, no they ask to be cruised on the toughest and most dangerous naval ships in the world.

Then when they get stuck by a difficult intrenched opposing force. Rather than keep bashing their extremely strong and talented heads against an immovable object, who do they call for help??

The US Navy, who happily provides rockets, cannon fire, or air to ground support from those same naval ships who so happily provided transportation and 3 squares a day while the marines were on board.

I would suggest that perhaps it is a symbiotic relationship that the Marines enjoy.

GO NAVY!

The answer is when one team...

Forfeits the game!

The offended team on a "no show" gets...
