Today is perfect

Today is a perfect day to get out on Lake Pontchartrain for a sail. The tide is up with a northwesterly wind at 14 gusting to 22 with a light chop. The cool front came through Sunday and has dropped temperatures into the mid seventies with not a cloud in the sky. On my way home from work today around 1:30pm, I was crossing the highway 11 bridge looking out over the lake. To my right there was a Catalina with a striped jib enjoying the beautiful day between the twin span and highway 11 bridges. I sounded the car horn in acknowledgment of myself wishing it were I. If my boat was sail ready, I think I would have started my weekend very early.

You are right! Beautiful weather. I am messing about on boat today. slept at the slip in Mandeville last night. No Air Cond necessary... Really great. Made some biscuits for breakfast.. that warmed up the boat nicely! Have to head back to Baton Rouge this afternoon..

That was a friend of mine

Think that was a friend of mine. He was out there yesterday, just loafing around. That is a pretty headsail. Boat is a Newport 27 if it was my friend you saw. Weather is very nice right now, but unfortunately I am attacking my to do list, before we head off for an extended sail next week.
